Privacy Policy

RespiteMatch is a platform operated by GM Allied Services Inc., a corporation registered in Ontario, Canada, with its principal place of business in Brampton, Ontario. We connect families of individuals with developmental disabilities with independent support workers in the Peel Region.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, city
• Profile information: role, care preferences, support worker qualifications, uploaded documents
• Usage data: pages visited, actions taken, timestamps
• Subscription information: subscription status, start/end dates, and Stripe customer/subscription IDs (payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers)
• Device and browser information for security and analytics

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

This is a core protection of our platform:

• Family contact details (email, phone) are never shared publicly.
• Contact details are shared with a support worker only after a family has reviewed and explicitly accepted a support worker's application.
• Support workers who are not selected receive no identifying information about the family or the individual in care.
• Individual care descriptions posted by families must not include names, school names, or addresses — this is enforced by platform guidelines.

We use your personal information to:

• Operate and maintain the RespiteMatch platform
• Facilitate connections between families and support workers
• Confirm support worker background checks (VSC) and process approvals
• Send platform notifications and updates
• Comply with legal obligations under Ontario and Canadian law

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Under Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and Canada's PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Contact us at privacy@gmallied.ca to exercise these rights.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
