Terms of Service

By accessing or using RespiteMatch ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms form a binding legal agreement between you and GM Allied Services Inc. ("Company", "we", "us").

RespiteMatch is a two-sided marketplace that facilitates connections between families seeking respite care ("Families") and independent support workers ("Support Workers") in the Peel Region of Ontario. The Company does not employ support workers and is not a party to any care arrangement made through the Platform.

All users agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Not post identifying information (names, addresses, school names) in public care descriptions
• Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Treat all other users with respect and dignity
• Report concerns about safety or platform misuse immediately

Support workers additionally agree that all submitted documents are authentic, and that any credential misrepresentation constitutes grounds for immediate removal.

Families additionally agree not to share their own contact information with support workers prior to the platform-facilitated match process.

RespiteMatch is a matching platform only. We do not:

• Employ, supervise, or control care support workers
• Guarantee the quality or safety of any care arrangement
• Act as an insurer or guarantor for any party

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform or care arrangements facilitated through it.

The Company's total liability to any user shall not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amounts paid by that user to the Company in the prior 3 months.

Posting care requests and applying to posts are free. Once a match is confirmed between a family and a support worker, both parties must maintain an active $39/month subscription (CAD) billed through Stripe. The subscription unlocks direct contact details and access to the shared hours ledger, which includes hours tracking, shared notes, and PDF export. If either party's subscription is cancelled or expires, access to contact details and the ledger is revoked until the subscription is reactivated. The subscription fee is for platform access only and does not cover the cost of care services, which are negotiated and paid directly between the family and the support worker.

All support workers must pass a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) — the Ontario background check for individuals working with vulnerable populations — before listing on the Platform. Additional qualifications shown on a support worker's profile (CPR, certifications, experience) are optional and provided for reference only. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy of optional qualifications. Families are encouraged to conduct their own due diligence. Platform approval confirms the background check only and is not a warranty or endorsement of a support worker's suitability for any specific care situation.

All platform content, branding, and design are the property of GM Allied Services Inc. Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at our discretion for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or any conduct we determine is harmful to users or the Platform.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario.
